Honorary Degree Nominations

At Commencement each May, Haverford awards honorary degrees to a small number of individuals who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and achievement in any of a broad array of fields, including education, the arts and sciences, international relations, and public service. The College seeks to honor individuals who exemplify its heritage and values, and it prefers to honor individuals whose achievements have not been recognized by honorary degrees previously.
On behalf of the Honorary Degree committee of the Board of Managers (composed of Board members, two faculty representatives and representatives of the Class of 2014), I write to invite your nominations of individuals whom you believe merit consideration for this special recognition by the College.  To nominate an individual please send his or her name to Adrienne Selinger, or hard copies c/o the President’s Office, by the end of the calendar year.
The Committee thanks you in advance for your suggestions. Names of individuals not awarded honorary degrees in a given year but favorably reviewed by the Committee will remain on the list for consideration in subsequent years.

Prof. Anita Isaacs (Political Science) and students cross Founders Green after class.
