AAC&U Conference on Modeling Equity, Engaging Difference: New Networks for Diversity and Learning
The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) is organizing a contingent of students, staff, and faculty to attend the AAC&U conference on “Modeling Equity, Engaging Difference” that will take place at the Sheraton Inner Harbor Hotel in Baltimore, Maryland from October 18-20.
The OMA invites students who are interested in multicultural awareness, agency and strategy as a form of facilitating civic engagement and/or intercultural development to apply to attend the conference. The OMA will cover registration costs and transportation, and will work with students in securing lodging. Applications are due October 9th, 2012 at 11:59 p.m.
For the past twenty years, AAC&U has gathered together national leaders in education to articulate the complex connections between societal diversity, liberal education, and democratic aspirations. The conference sessions draw from the understanding that a fully inclusive vision of democratic justice and voice—and the creation of significant new bodies of knowledge —are cornerstones for academic excellence.
