New Global Leadership Studies Program
Students pre-register for the leadership courses, based on the following two options:
• Core Course (3 credits): With a focus on cross-cultural leadership theory and practice, this course emphasizes both comparative leadership and leadership in the context of the host societies, addressing a range of topics that all link to practical skills and awareness. Students will work across Centers and cultures on a final project.
• Certificate in Global Leadership (6-9 credits): Students enroll in the core course above, as well as either in an Internship Placement or in an existing course that focuses on leadership in a cross-cultural environment in disciplines such as health studies, intercultural communication, international business, international relations, management, organizational theory, and psychology. ‘Certificate in Global Leadership’ acknowledgement will also appear on the student transcript.
This program complements and extends leadership programs at students’ home institutions by offering academic and experiential opportunities in an international setting. Because the program is designed for students across disciplines, it also welcomes students who are not enrolled in leadership development programs on their home campuses, but are drawn to these opportunities overseas.
