Forty-Two Student-Athletes Named to Centennial Conference Honor Roll

LANCASTER, Pa. – Forty-two Haverford College student-athletes were named to the Winter Academic Honor Roll announced by the Centennial Conference on Wednesday. To be nominated for the honor roll, a student must be a sophomore, junior or senior, be a starter or key reserve on the team, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.40 or higher.  


All four of Haverford’s conference sponsored winter sports had at least two student-athletes on the Honor Roll. Haverford had the most recipients of any school in the conference and both men’s and women’s indoor track and field teams had the most honorees in their respective sports.


Men’s basketball honorees included: Brent Anderson, Ray Panek, Greg Rosnick and Alex Schwada. Anderson, Panek and Rosnick all made the honor roll last year.


Women’s basketball was represented by Kathleen Abels and Sara Cram. Abels was also a 2007 recipient.


Men’s indoor track and field had the most honorees in the conference with 21. Those named to the honor roll were: Joe Awantang (three-time winter honor roll), Paul Bisceglio (two-time winter honor roll), Mark Burgmann (two-time winter honor roll), Taylor Burmeister (two-time winter honor roll), Reilly Costigan-Humer, Patrick Donnelly, Phil Eiseman, Michael Hildner (two-time winter honor roll), Michael Jablin (three-time winter honor roll), Phillip Kim, Andrew Lanham, Ben Marsden (three-time winter honor roll), Richard Marsico, Tim Miles, Jason Oaks (two-time winter honor roll), Daniel O’Toole (two-time winter honor roll), Greg Postestio (three-time winter honor roll), Ian Ramsey-North (two-time winter honor roll), Benjamin Walker (two-time winter honor roll) and Andre Wei.


Women’s indoor track and field had 15 student-athletes named to the honor roll. That is also tops among the conference. Receiving the honors were: Jessica Belden (two-time winter honor roll), Megan Bonney (two-time winter honor roll), Heidi Bretscher (two-time winter honor roll), Deirdre Din, Lena Edelstein (two-time winter honor roll), Aileen Keogh, Chloe Levenson, Emma Lo (three-time winter honor roll), Darian Lunne (two-time winter honor roll), Mara Miller, Margaret Morrison (two-time winter honor roll), Melissa Nylander (three-time winter honor roll), Hayley O’Malley, Eliza Reiss and Sarah Walker (two-time winter honor roll).
