Fine Arts Senior Thesis Exhibition

The Haverford College Department of Fine Arts is pleased to present the thesis exhibition of the graduating class of 2011. This year's nine seniors pursued concentrations in painting, printmaking, and sculpture. The exhibition includes work by Michael Galetta (painting), Val Kirilova (painting), Julia LeBouvier (sculpture), Brooke Reid (printmaking), Samantha Salazar (sculpture/printmaking), Candice Smith (painting), Jennifer Tong (painting), Angela Wang (sculpture), and Nic Yulo (painting).

All Majors in Fine Arts are required to take the intensive, year-long Senior Seminar, during which they explore the themes, methods, and concepts presented in this exhibition. Throughout the year, they master the techniques and develop the visual vocabulary in their concentration to shape a focused body of work. For every graduating student, the exhibition represents the culmination of their study at the Fine Arts Department at Haverford College.

The Fine Arts Department encourages students to bring to their art the full weight of the liberal arts education they have gained at Haverford. The yearlong work on a senior project is intended to foster students' individual growth and, no less importantly, to make a contribution to the wider community.

There will be a reception for the artists 5-7pm on Friday, May 6. Gallery hours are Monday-Friday 11-5, Wednesday 11-8, and Saturday-Sunday 12-5. More information is available at and (610)896-1287.

Prof. Anita Isaacs (Political Science) and students cross Founders Green after class.
