The Bard Festival String Quartet returns to Haverford College

On Sunday, February 24th, 2008 at 3 pm, the Department of Music’s Guest Artist Series celebrates Haverford’s Alumni Year in the Arts with the Bard Festival String Quartet in Roberts Hall, Marshall Auditorium.  Joining the quartet will be baritone, Randall Scarlata, and Christopher Gibbs ’80 who will give a pre-concert talk . The program will feature Beethoven’s “String Quartet No. 13 in B-flat Major, Op. 130”, Elgar’s “String Quartet in E Minor” and Samuel Barber's “Dover Beach” for voice and strings.  Immediately following the concert there will be a “Meet the Artists” Reception in Founders Great Hall sponsored by the Friends of Haverford College Program and the Alumni Office. This concert is free to the bi-college community. For others ticket prices are $15 (Gen), $12 (Sr), $8 (Students), and $5 (7-17).

The Strawbridge Observatory at Haverford College houses 12-inch and 16-inch Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes which are actively used by students in Haverford astronomy classes.
