Indoor Track Teams Take Five First-Place Finishes at Home Quad Meet

2/11/08 - The women took first in four events, while Carlos Coleman had the men's best finish.
HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Haverford indoor track teams hosted a quad meet Monday evening at the Fieldhouse.
On the women's side, the Fords took first place in two field events and two relays. Melissa Nylander reached 9-5 3/4 in the pole vault. Eliza Rice jumped 33-3 in the triple jump. Mara Miller finished second in the long jump with a distance of 16-10 3/4.
The Haverford women took the top-spot in the 4x400 relay, coming in at 4:12.40. The Fords 4x200 relay team also came in first at 1:49.51.
Carlos Coleman had the men's best finish. He placed first in the 55 meter dash, crossing the finish line in 6.68. He also came in second in the 200 meter dash at 23.41. Haverford took the second through 10 spots in the mile run. Chris Southwick (4:22.33) finished second.
Both men's and women's teams are back in action this Friday against Lafayette and Rider at the New York City Armory. The meet gets underway at 3:30 p.m.
