Haverford Senior wins Poster Session Prize
Massiel's poster was based on research she has performed in Prof. Karin Akerfeldt's research lab, where she worked in the summer of 2007 as a paid research assistant and where she is now working for credit on her senior research project. Massiel will graduate in May with both a Chemistry major and an Area of Concentration in Biochemistry. She is looking for a job as a laboratory research assistant, and plans eventually to attend graduate school.
Massiel's poster is entitled "Synthesis and Study of Novel, Self-Aggregating Porphyrin-Peptide Nanowires". Co-authors are Haein Kim, Steven VanName, Ashley Eldredge-Martin and Karin Åkerfeldt. The poster is on display in the second floor east lounge (E214) of the Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center at Haverford.
