Ursinus defeats Haveford for 76-48 in Conference Action

Haverford shot 41.9% in the game, but could not get by Ursinus.
10-0 run by Ursinus to end first half is enough for 76-48 win.
HAVERFORD, Pa. – Ursinus College finished the first half on a 10-0 run to take the lead for good and defeat Haverford College, 76-48, Thursday night in Centennial Conference action at Gooding Arena.
Sarah Hennessey led all players with 15 points for the Bears. Carolyn Konstanzer netted 14 points and Laura Krieger added 12. Brittany Lattisaw was the only Ford in double figures, scoring 13 points.
The Fords took an eight point lead at the 10:55 mark of the first half. The Bears chipped their way back into the game and tied the score at 23 with six minutes left. The teams traded baskets before Ursinus ended the half on a 10-0 run to take a 37-29 lead into the locker room. Haverford shot 68.4% in the half while Ursinus shot 56.0%.
Haverford went nine minutes in the second half where it did not score a field goal. During that time, Ursinus had a 19-7 run to put the game away. The Fords shot only 20.8% in the second half while Ursinus connected on 60.0%.
Ursinus improves its record to 9-7 overall, 7-2 in the conference. Haverford is now 3-13, 0-10 in the conference. Haverford will be on the court on Saturday when it travels to Gettysburg in conference action. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m.
