A Strong Second Half Puts McDaniel Over Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – A strong second half by McDaniel College gave it the edge over Haverford College, 68-49, Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference action at Gooding Arena. Ali Moreland led the Green Terror with 13 points. Whitney Snoops added 10. Brittany Lattisaw scored her second double-double of the week with 22 points and 11 rebounds for the Fords. Kathleen Abels netted 10 points. Haverford came out strong in the first half and started the game with a 16-6 run. The Fords kept their distance with a 22-12 score with 6:36 left in the first half, but McDaniel started to chip away. The Ford’s shooting went cold and the Green Terror went on a 15-4 run to end the half and take a one point lead into the locker room. The teams started the second half by trading baskets. With the score 33-32 McDaniel with 16:13 left in regulation, the Green Terror went on a 16-0 run over the next six minutes to put the game out of reach. The teams had nearly identical field goal percentages, McDaniel shooting 39.4% while Haverford shot 38.5%. Abels netted the only three-pointer in the contest. Every player on McDaniel’s squad scored at least a point. McDaniel improves to 8-7 overall, 7-2 in the Centennial Conference. Haverford is now 3-11, 0-8 in the conference. The Fords will travel to Muhlenberg on Tuesday for a single-game conference match-up. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
