Bryn Mawr defeats Haverford in Overtime

BRYN, MAWR, Pa. – Bryn Mawr out scored Haverford 9-2 in overtime to win, 54-47, Tuesday night in Centennial Conference action at Schwartz Gymnasium.
Brittany Lattisaw notched a double-double, 20 points and 18 rebounds, for the Fords. She added five blocks. Erica Juliano scored 13 points and Sara Cram added 10. Bryn Mawr had two players with double-doubles. Jessica Allen led all scorers with 29 points and pulled in 12 rebounds. Shanika Bridges-King added 14 points and 11 boards.
This was a game that featured six ties and 10 lead changes. The Fords took a one points lead with 15 second left in the first half, but Allen hit a buzzer beater to give the Owls a one point advantage, 28-27, heading into the locker room.
Bryn Mawr took its biggest lead of the second half, five points, early on but could not pull away as Haverford kept pace. Down by one with 1:15 left in regulation, Lattisaw hit 1-of-2 free throws to tie the game at 45. Neither team could hit the winning basket in the last minute and the game went to overtime.
The Fords could not put the ball in the basket during overtime and Bryn Mawr pulled away. The Owls scored the first nine points of overtime before Lattisaw hit a jumper with just 10 seconds left.
Bryn Mawr picks up its first win in the Centennial Conference and improves its record to 4-9, 1-6. Haverford is now 3-9, 0-6 in the conference. The Fords will be back on the court on Thursday night when they travel to Franklin & Marshall. The conference game is set for 6 p.m.
