Red Devils too much for Fords

1/9/08 - In its first game of the new year, the Haverford women could not get by Dickinson.
HAVERFORD, Pa. Dickinsons Carole Dempsey was the lone player to score in double figures as the Red Devils defeated Haverford, 65-40, Wednesday night in Centennial Conference play at Gooding Arena.
Dempsey led all players with 13 points. Brooke Miller netted nine points for Dickinson while Laura Lyons scored eight. The Fords were lead by Sara Cram with nine points. Kathleen Abels added seven points, all from the charity line.
Dickinson wasted no time to jump out to a big lead. It started on a 12-0 run with 14:35 to go in the first half. The score was 18-6 lead with 10:11 remaining before Haverfords Natalie Richman sank two free throws. The Red Devils took a 39-18 lead into the locker room.
Haverford could not cut into the lead in the second half. The Fords had only one player score points in both halves.
Dickinson improves to 6-4, 5-1 in the Centennial Conference. Haverford falls to 3-7, 0-5 in the conference. The Fords will be on the court this Saturday, January 12 when they travel to Elizabethtown. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m.
