Bischak, McMahon, and Alfieri are conference veterans, having presented posters at the Protein Society 23rd Annual Symposium in July 2009, where McMahon and Alfieri shared the award for best undergraduate poster presentation. In San Francisco at the Moscone Convention Center, they will each present the most recent results from their ongoing research in Dr. Londergan's laboratory, which uses chemical modification and vibrational spectroscopy to develop new site-specific probes of dynamic protein structure. Their trip to San Francisco is funded in part by a grant to Dr. Londergan from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences.
