12/7/07 - Sophomore Miller, first-year sprinter Zoe Welch shine for Haverford in season opening Villanova meet at Haverford.
Sophomore Mara Miller (16 feet-8.5 inches) tied junior teammate Jessie Belden's year-old Haverford indoor record in the long jump with her sixth-place performance behind Audrey Gareipy-Bogui (17-5.5) of Pyrah meet host Villanova.
Other top performers for Haverford in their respective events included junior Claire Adams, who was fourth in the 3,000 meters (personal-record 11:31.66) and sixth-place sophomores Aileen Keogh (1: 21.73) and Jackie Freund (32-9) in the 500 meters and shot put.
Zoe Welch made her debut as Haverford's top sprinter in the 55-meter (7.78) and 300-meter (44.92) dashes, while soph Eliza Reiss (9.18 seconds) was eighth in the 55 hurdles.
