Wave of Fords roll to top times in women's cross country

HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Haverford College women's JV cross country team took nine of the top 16 places Friday afternoon at the Haverford JV Tee-Shirt Invitational run on the College's 3-mile Alumni Course.

Freshman Andrea Tocci was the first Haverford runner to cross the finish, racing to a seventh place time of 18 minutes, 57 seconds. Her time on Friday is 43 seconds faster than the time she posted at the Main Line Invitational on the same course one month ago.

Teammate Kaitlyn Shank was close on Tocci's heels in eighth place with a time, 19:13, that was seven seconds better than at the Main Line.

After a Lebanon Valley runner in ninth place, the Fords snared the next seven places. Mary Morgan was 10th (19:23; 37 seconds faster than at the Main Line), and was followed by Sheera Rosenbaum (19:27; -23), Rachel Potter (19:30; -40), Sara Hess (19:37; -27), Jamie Croucher (19:43; -1:03), Sally Weathers (19:43), and Kaia Davis (19:46; -39).

No team scores were kept, but the individual winner of the 83 racers was unattached runner Ellen Dougherty who completed the course in a winning time of 17:14.

The JV meet marks the end of the regular season for all of the Fords who next take to the trails October 31 for the Centennial Conference Championship hosted by Gettysburg College.
