Political Science Major Joseph Anderson '09 Awarded Haverford House Fellowship
Joseph Anderson '09 will serve a one-year term and work four days per week with a non-profit organization in the Philadelphia area. Haverford House Fellows dedicate their fifth workday to projects that engage the College with Greater Philadelphians devoted to a more socially just, healthy and vibrant community.
Joseph describes his placement and project as follows:
Placement: I will be a fellow at Community Legal Services (CLS). CLS is a non-profit law firm and I will be working in the Employment unit helping people with criminal backgrounds remove some of their barriers to employment.
Haverford House Project: My goal is to run a series of Ex-Co type classes that would help get Haverford students more connected to what is happening in Philadelphia. I'm also looking to start a web site or weekly email that would keep Haverford students abreast of goings on in Philadelphia.
