10/20/07 - Haverford takes 55 minutes to dispose of Dickinson.
HAVERFORD, PA - Haverford defeated visiting Dickinson, 3-0 (30-15, 30-15, 30-23) in a season record 55 minutes Saturday afternoon in a Centennial Conference volleyball match. The Fords' hit .556 and .421 in the first two games, respectively, en route to the three-game sweep.
Haverford (25-2 overall, 7-1 Centennial) was led by sophomore Rebecca Salvo's match-high 11 kills with a .435 hitting percentage. Sophomore middle hitter Rachel Salvo tallied ten kills with a .333 hitting percentage. Each Salvo sister registered seven digs and two blocks.
Senior outside hitter Laura Nuyen added nine kills with a .562 hitting percentage and ten digs. Senior setter Emily Hinchcliff dished out 34 assists and collected a team-high 11 digs.
Nuyen, Hinchcliff and senior outside hitter Dana Mullenhard each had three service aces. Mullenhard also had six kills with a .500 hitting percentage.
Dickinson (10-14, 5-3) was led by Elitsa Gosheva's ten kills.
The Fords have a 13-5 all-time series lead on the Red Devils and have won ten straight matches against the Dickinson dating back to 1999.
Haverford will host rival Swarthmore in a Centennial battle on Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
