The Committee of International Initiatives (CII) is proud to invite you to our Second International Alumni Weekend on Saturday, February 7, and Sunday, February 8, 2009, entitled "Oh, the places you will go! – The Experiences of 'Fords Abroad."
Watch video of the 2008 International Alumni Weekend!
The goal of the Committee is to assist Haverford in preparing its students for the globalized world that requires a working knowledge of international issues and intercultural competence.
We believe that the development of these skills is essential in order to be competitive in the international job market. We work towards this goal by supporting programs that expose students to immersed international experiences, educate students about international issues, and equip students with the skills and networks necessary to succeed internationally.
The International Alumni Weekend consists of panel discussions and workshops with Haverford College Alumni who have worked and lived abroad or within the United States of America and have been active internationally. Students will have the opportunity to learn more about:
- The benefits of an international experiences
- The significance of intercultural understanding in today's world;
- Career and research opportunities outside of the U.S. in business, teaching, medical and more;
- The challenges involved in working in various cultural environments.
Since space is limited, we encourage you to R.S.V.P. before February 4, 2009.
Thank you for your interest and we hope to see you.
We remain,
Sincerely Yours,
The Committee of International Initiatives:
