Photo Gallery: Koshlands Name Humanities Center Directorship
On October 1st, Haverford welcomed Cathy '72 and Jim '73 Koshland to campus to thank them for generously endowing the Directorship of the John B. Hurford '60 Humanities Center. Endowing this position, currently held by Israel Burshatin, helps to ensure that the Humanities Center will continue to enhance intellectual and cultural life at Haverford well into the future.
Provost Linda Bell welcomes Cathy and Jim Koshland (right) and assembled guests to the dedication. "This is a very special event for Haverford and for the Humanities Center," Bell said. "We are celebrating two things: one, the distinctive and important growing presence of the Humanities Center in the life - both academic and artistic - of this College, and also, most importantly, the generosity of Jim and Cathy Koshland in endowing the directorship of this Center."
