AuditionsAuditions for Chamber Singers are held during the first week of classes each Fall. Sign-up sheets for audition times are posted at Union (Haverford) and Goodhart (Bryn Mawr). The audition consists of singing five-note scales for tone quality, range, and intonation, matching several 3 or 4 note sequences of pitches after hearing them played on the piano, and sight-reading a passage from the planned repertoire. Singing a prepared art song or aria is not required, but would greatly enhance your audition. Callbacks are held at the end of the first round of auditions.Auditions for Chorale are held simultaneously; students interested in just Chorale will not be asked to do sight-seeing or sing a preferred piece. |
