made up of professional musicians, Temple University, Curtis Institute
of Music students and graduates. These orchestras have performed for
the Haverford/Bryn Mawr College Chorale, as well as for special programs
such as a Native American Music symposium held at Haverford College.
The orchestra performed 19th and 20th century works influenced by
Native American music, including the premier of Haverford Professor,
Curt Cacioppo's powerful, "Scenes from Indian Country."
The program was broadcast on WRTI, Philadelphia's classical and jazz
music radio station. For woodwind/brass players who do not make it
into orchestra, there is a woodwind ensemble at Swarthmore College.
All flutists are welcome to join the Haverford/Bryn Mawr College Flute
Ensemble, which performs both on and off campus.
