Extracurricular Activities

I am a member of Servas, an international pacifist organization. Here are photos of some Servas members from Australia, Brazil, Denmark, Finland, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Russia, and Sweden. Other international organizations of which I have been a member are MIT's European Club, and UC-Berkeley's International House.

I enjoy foreign languages and organized a Math Department French Club at MIT and at U. Michigan. I also participated in U. Michigan's Spanish, Italian, French, and Portuguese clubs, and in Dartmouth's Italian and French clubs. I studied most of these languages at the Boston Language Institute.

I play the clarinet and piano, and have performed with ensembles at Brown, MIT, UC-Berkeley, and U. Michigan. At UC-Berkeley I sang with an a cappella group called DeCadence. I've also done a lot of folkdancing, latin dancing, and contradancing.

I am a certified exercisaholic, typically swimming, running, biking, or skiing every day. I have participated in casual swimming groups at MIT, U. Michigan, and Dartmouth, and in Ann Arbor's ultimate frisbee league and stairclimbing team. I also started competing in triathlons in 2004.
