Background and Research
I got my undergraduate degree in Mathematics from the University of Rome
I in Italy. After spending one year at the "Istituto Nazionale di Alta Matematica F. Severi" in Rome, I came to the US. I got my Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Maryland at College Park, where I worked under the direction of Professor David
Rohrlich. My research interests are in Arithmetic-Algebraic Geometry and
Number Theory, with particular emphasis on elliptic curves and elliptic surfaces. From 1994 to 1996 I held a post-doctoral position at the University of Pennsylvania, after which I got a Visiting Assistant Professorship at Haverford, where I currently am.
