NJ Star is available at LLC station #15 and #16.
1) Restart the computer holding the OPTION key.
2) Choose Windows, not LLC, with your mouse.
3) Press Return key.
4) Press Control +ALT+ Delete keys.
5) User name: student
Password: (leave it blank)
Log on to HCACC
6) Click OK.

Activating Chinese Keyboards for typing
Macintosh OS X for Chinese
1) Go to System Preference from the Apple menu.
2) Choose International.
3) Choose Input Menu.
4) Select the language you want to use for input so that the check mark
appears next to the language you want.
5) Close the System Preference.
6) Open an application you want to use such as MS Word or TextEdit.
7) Change the flag icon at the top of the screen to the appropriate flag
icon for the language you want.
8) Choose the appropriate font from Format if necessary.
Windows XP for Traditional Chinese
You need the Windows XP CD to configure Chinese input.
1) Go to control panel > Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options >Regional
and Language Options.
2) Click on the Language tab.
3) Insert the Windows XP CD.
4) Check the Install files for East Asian Languages box.
5) Click Apply.
6) Restart the computer.
7) Go back to the Language tab.
8) MaKe sure the Install files for East Asian Languages box is checked.
9) Click on the Details button.
10) Click on Add... in the new window: you'll be presented with a choice
of input language and keyboard layout/IME.
11) Select Chinese (Taiwan) from the input language list.
12) Select Microsoft New Phonetic Input Method 2002a from the keyboard
layout/IME list.
13) Highlight the IME you've just added. A button to the right labeled
Properties should become active. Click on this.
14) Click on the Keyboard Mapping tab in the new window.
15) Select Hanyu Pinyin.
16) Keep hitting the OK buttons until you've closed the Regional and Language
Options > control panel.
If you do not have the CD, you can download the Global Input Method Editor from Microsoft, which includes both Traditional Chinese fonts and software.
Windows XP for Simplified Chinese
You need the Windows XP CD to configure Chinese input.
1) Go to control panel > Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options >Regional
and Language Options.
2) Click on the Language tab.
3) Insert the Windows XP CD.
4) Check the Install files for East Asian Languages box.
5) Click Apply.
6) Restart the computer.
7) Go back to the Language tab.
8) MaKe sure the Install files for East Asian Languages box is checked.
9) Click on the Details button.
10) Click on Add... in the new window: you'll be presented with a choice
of input language and keyboard layout/IME.
11) Select Chinese (PRC) from the input language list.
12) Select Chinese (Simplified) - Microsoft Pinyin IME 3.0 from the keyboard
layout/IME list.
13) If you like, you can have a list of possible characters presented when
you type, rather than the default of letting the system choose the most
likely one. To do this, highlight the Chinese Microsoft IME. A button to
the right labeled Properties should become active. Click on this and ensure
that Conversion Mode is set to Sentence, then make sure that Prompt Step
by Step is checked.
14) Keep hitting the OK buttons until you've closed the Regional and Language
Options < control panel.

Select the document by Edit > Select all and choose the appropriate
font for Chinese. See above for fonts.
FAQ. 2. How do I type in Chinese with an onscreen keyboard in the LLC?
1) Open MS Word or TextEdit from the dock.
2) Change the flag icon to Traditional or Simplified Chinese.
3) Click the pencil icon (next to the flag) and select Show English Menu
if you prefer.
4) Select SoftKeyboard.
5) Click the pencil icon again to select the input method.
6) Finished words will appear when the spacebar is pressed.
