Activate Keyboard for Typing in Arabic.
If you want to type in Arabic, you need to activate
the Arabic keyboard. Select your OS and
follow the instructions.
Windows XP
You might need the Windows XP CD
1) Go to Start > Control
panel > Date, Time, Language,
and Regional Options >Regional
and Language Options.
2) Click on the Languages tab.
3) Check the Install files for complex script
and write-to-left languages (including Thai).
4) Click Apply.
5) Restart the computer.
6) Go back to the Languages tab.
7) Click on the Details... button.
8) Click on Add... in the new window: you'll be presented with
a choice of input language and keyboard layout/IME.
9) Select the input language
and keyboard

Arabic (101)
10)Click Apply.
11) Open any Windows application, then make sure the
Language Bar menu on top is set to the input language
you want.
On-screen keyboard (XP)
1) Go to Start > Programs > Accessories > Accessibility > On-Screen
Keyboard.
2) In the On-Screen Keyboard, go to Settings > Font > and
change the Font to Arial.
3) Now, change the Language Bar language to
the Language you're trying to use, and click back on the On-Screen
Keyboard window.
If you want to Install a free Arabic QWERTY/phonetically
defined keyboard,
1)After you install files for complex scrript
and write to left languages (including Thai),
(see above the instructions).
Go to http://zsigri.tripod.com/fontboard/arabic.html
2) Click Download and download fbarab.zip
3) Restart the computer.
4) Go back to the Languages tab.
5) Click on the Details... button.
6) Click on Add... in the new window: you'll be presented with
a choice of input language and keyboard layout/IME.
7) Select
Input Language: Arabic [Egypt]- select ASDF Western
Windows Vista
1) Click on Start button and then
select Control Panel.
2) Under Clock, Language, and Region area, select Change
keyboards or other input methods link. Note: If you are in the Control
Panel Classic View, then double-click on Regional and Language Options icon and click on the tab keyboard and languages.
3) Click on the Change keyboards…button then click on Add… button.
4) Select the input language and keyboard.
Expand "Arabic (Egypt)" tree then Expand "Keyboard" tree from the list. Check Keyboard Arabic (101)
5) Click OK to add the selected
keyboards to the Installed Services.
6) Click OK to confirm and apply
your new language settings.
7) Open any Windows application then make sure the
Language Bar menu on top is set to the input language
you want.
On-screen keyboard (Vista)
1) Go to Start > Programs > Accessories >Ease
of Access> On-Screen Keyboard.
2) In the On-Screen Keyboard, go to Settings > Font > and
change the Font to Arial.
3) Now, change the Language Bar language
to the Language you're trying to use, and click back
on the On-Screen Keyboard window.
If you want to Install a free Arabic QWERTY/phonetically

Macintosh
1) Go to the Apple menu and open Systems
Preferences.
2) Click the International icon
on the first row of the Systems Preferences panel.
3) Click the Input Menu tab and
check Arabic -QWERTY.
4) On the upper right portion of the screen, click
on the American flag icon (U.S. Flag Icon).
Use the dropdown menu to select Arabic -QWERTY.
On-screen keyboard (Mac)
1) Go to the Apple menu and open Systems
Preferences.
2) Click the International icon
on the first row of the Systems Preferences panel.
3) Click the Input Menu tab and
check Keyboard viewer.
4) Click on the flag icon on the upper right and
select Keyboard viewer.
