Before protecting records, download as usual.
- Find the lowest available "OCLC-type" number in the 700,000,000+
range (which has been set aside for Haverford Special Collections).
You can do this by typing o70000, RETURN,
then jumping to the end of the 70000XXX
numbers. Write the next available number down so you can remember it.
Then press <q> to quit this search.
- Call up the bib record. You can use the b-number or OCLC
number.
- Go into Full Screen Edit. Change tag 001
to 035.
- Then press <CTRL> <n>
to create a new line. Make the line 001,
tab once, then type the 70000XXX "local
OCLC number" from step 1.
- Then exit Full Screen Edit, and type <q>
to quit, <m> to make the changes
to BIBLIOGRAPHIC record permanent.
