Label should read:
MUSIC
VIDEO
- Stamp "Haverford College Library" (i.e.
the "cassette stamp") on pre-existing label on cassette
(if there is one); if there is no such label or no room to stamp,
write "Haverford College Library" on clear plastic of
cassette with special indelible ink labeling pen.
- If video is in a cardboard box, cut box and insert
pieces into a clear case, including front & spine (one piece)
and back (a second piece); tape them to keep them from slipping
out (using a small, looped piece of tape).
- Emboss printed material.
- Plate only if special plate is needed (i.e. don't
attach a plain Magill plate); attach plate to front of pocket; if
a large pre-printed plate is required, don't use -- instead, type
its message onto a Magill plate with border (i.e. "Gift of
the Library Associates").
- Barcode on cassette.
- Write call number on clear plastic of cassette with
special labeling pen.
- Spine label on box/case.
- Un-targetted pocket, with pocket label attached,
taped inside case.
- Bookcard, with card label attached -- use a blank
3x5 card.
- Insert any additional materials, such as a pamphlet,
into the cover or lay in case as appropriate.
- Break out erase tab if not already done.
- If no title exists on the spine of case (i.e. video
did not come in a box or box has no writing on spine), take an unused
card/pocket label and attach it to the spine to show the title,
trimming as necessary to make it fit. Similarly, if the title is
not written anywhere on the cassette itself, attach a card/pocket
label showing the title to the spine or top of the cassette as appropriate.
Note: In unusual cases,
such as when there are two videos housed in one case, consult with
the Processing Supervisor.
