- Catalogers need to consult
with the bibliographer who ordered books that measure or exceed 33 cm.
- In general, books for Magill
stacks which measure or exceed 33 cm. in height AND
width should be given locations of Folio Shelves (hmfls).
- Catalogers need to consult
with the bibliographer who ordered books that measure or exceed 33 cm.,
but are less than 33 cm. in width, since they could be shelved in the
main stacks.
- For Art
and Photo
books, catalogers need to consult with
the bibliographer about which books should go to Art Folio Shelves (hmarf),
Art Oversize Shelves (hmaro), or Art Photo
Folio Shelves (hmptf).
- Folio locations should NOT
be used for materials for the Science
libraries, nor for Magill scores,
Music Library materials, nor Reference.
Oversize Reference atlases over 31 cm. go
into the Atlas Room (hmatl).
Special Collections:
- For the Quaker
Collection (hq), for any volume
that is 29 cm. or more in height, insert a plus (+) in an OVERSIZE field
in the item. Produce spine labels as usual.
- For hqr,
insert a plus (+) in an OVERSIZE field in the item. Use QUAKER
RARE BOOKS FOLIO on spine labels.
- For rare books, use location
code htrbf. DO NOT
insert a plus (+). Use RARE BOOKS FOLIO
on spine labels. The same goes for the Jenks collection (htjkf).
