Framing Photographs: Contexts & Transpositions

Sharpless Gallery, Magill Library, Haverford College
March 21 to June 1, 2008

Members of the 2007-08 Faculty Seminar, Photography, Modernism, and Post-Modernism, have selected images from Special Collections along with supplemental materials. This exhibition demonstrates how changing frames and transposing contexts affect the meaning of images and also how images resist efforts to determine this meaning once and for all.
