Haverford College has been
collecting materials relating to its history since 1831, two years before
it formally opened. The Archives, located in the Special Collections department
of Magill Library, consist of documents, both published and unpublished,
graphics, artifacts, and audiovisual materials. A large and growing part
of the collection is historical photographs of the college – its
people, campus life, buildings and grounds.
There is a fairly continuous stream of researchers,
both local and from farther afield consulting these resources on topics
such as the student response to war, athletics, consensus and the honor
code.
