<bioghist>
<p>Sol Mednick (1916-1970) was a photographer, especially commercial and scientific, but also a creative designer and teacher based primarily in New York and Philadelphia who was responsible for developing the photography department of the Philadelphia College of Art (now University of the Arts). He was also a founding member of The Creative Photographers' School. The latter was conceived as a home study photography school. Mednick became a member of the faculty in ca. 1961. He married Miriam Mednick in 1945.</p>
