Most library materials are shelved alphabetically by call number, according to Library of Congress Classification System.

The location codes in the left-hand column represent shelving areas in the libraries at Haverford College: The Astronomy Library in the Observatory, Magill Library, the Science Library in Hilles/Koshland, the Music Library in Union, and other locations.

The information to the right is a further description of the shelving area. Some location listings also include links to Magill Library floormaps highlighting the shelving areas.
