Summer Jobs at the Libraries
The Libraries are currently hiring for student assistant
positions for Summer 2008.
Summer library positions involve working in different
library departments; work days are generally divided into two with the
students spending their mornings in one department and their afternoons
in another. Each summer student is supervised by two different department
heads. Departments include acquisitions, circulation, interlibrary loan,
reference, administrative assistant's office, science library, processing,
etc. Tasks vary from department to department, but
students who are fast learners, have a keen attention to detail, and
are capable of working efficiently with little supervision are ideal
for library summer positions.
The terms of employment are full-time (35 hours per week) for 12 weeks.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. The 12 weeks are
to be worked preferably between May 19, 2008 and August 8, 2008.
To apply please download and complete
an application and submit it at
the circulation desk at any library or to Heidi Scott, Library Administrative
Assistant, at Magill Library. Applications will be accepted through
March 28.
