Programs: Mentoring and Student Teaching (MAST)
The Mentoring And Student Teaching program is a long-standing outreach program supported by HHMI. The program provides laboratory experience and writing tutorials for 40-50 Philadelphia area high school and middle school students who come from backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in the sciences. Haverford College students prepare the course curricula, devise and teach the scientific labs, and work one-on-one with high school and middle school students as tutors. Haverford College faculty act as advisers for this program.
