- The west wing punchlist and
move-ins are in progress.
- Sharpless commons
rough-ins are being completed and finishes are beginning.
July:
- Inspection of Hilles
is on 7/31/02.
- Focus is mostly on the Sharpless commons
renovation.
- Library furniture
is being moved.
- Hilles renovation
is almost complete.
- The flag stone at the pass-through
in being installed.
- The stairs in the south side courtyard
are being laid out and poured.
- Final cleaning
is in progress on the ground and first floors, Link,
and west wing along with the punch list.
- Carpet
is being installed through out the building.
- State inspection
is scheduled for the west wing and link on Wednesday
7/17/02.
- The circulation desk
will be installed.
- The Library carpet
is being installed.
- the new north entrance
of the Sharpless commons bridge can now get
started
- Hilles
is finished and ceilings are underway.
- exterior grading and walkways
have a few weeks until completion.
June:
- the bridge steel
will be erected and installed in the next few weeks.
- Marker, black and tack boards
will be installed.
- Final cleaning
is starting next week.
- The blinds and drapes are to
be installed.
- The space saver
movable shelving and the auditorium seating is scheduled for delivery
on July 1st.
- Sharpless demolition
should be wrapping up.
- The Sharpless steel
is presently being fabricated.
- The floor in the west
wings corridor will be going in.
- Site work and
back-filling will be on going.
- Hilles finishes
are underway.
- Flooring
in the corridors is being installed.
- Ceiling tile
is being dropped.
- The site work has
begun.
- Doors are
being swung and hardware is following.
- Final clearing
is scheduled in the next few weeks.
May:
- The final pointing
and washing down of the exterior skin is to be completed within the
next few weeks.
- Stair 5 drywall
is to be completed and prepared for plaster by the end of the week
- Millwork for the library finishes
are expected to be delivered by the end of the week.
- Metal doors to
the stair towers are painted and will be installed starting next week.
- The library barrel ceiling
and accent walls will be painted.
- The ceiling grid is being installed.
- Hilles first and ground floor framing
is going up.
- The trailer site and bulk materials
are beginning to be removed.
- Damproofing and limestone
work is in progress for the interior of the link pass.
- Stucco coating will
begin in the next few weeks.
- Casework installation
on the first and second floors is in progress.
- Hollow metal doors
and hardware are being delivered and will begin installation within the next
week.
April:
- The infills at stair 5 on the
first floor of Hilles will be poured.
- The library walls are closing
up.
- The west side exterior skin
will be complete in approximately 6 weeks.
- The library and mazzanine walls
are closing up.
- Flooring will follow
upon the next few casework deliveries.
- Stair 5 is is almost
completely drywalled.
- Hilles first
and second floor are being framed and drywalled.
- The permanent air handling systems
are controlling the temperature on the ground and first floors.
March:
- The insulation and roofing membrane
are being applied to the flat sections of the roof.
- The fan coil units and
main air handling unit #5 are being started started this week.
- Hilles second floor area is
being framed out.
- The second floor
drywall is to be completed by the end of the week.
February:
- The south chimney stone and
pointing will be completed this month.
- The masonry exterior skin is
progressing thanks to the weather.
- Installation of Elevator 2
in stair tower 5 will begin
- Interior drywall
is progressing through the ground and first floors.
- Lab piping and electrical
is progressing throughout the building.
January:
- Roof board will be
completed by 1/28/02.
- Plank will be set
on the 3rd floor of the link by 1/28/02.
- Stone at the chimneys will
begin by the end of the month.
- Drywall will be loaded
the week of 1/21/02.
- Ductwork on the ground
floor will start by the end of the month.
- Roofing will begin
on 1/14/02.
- The installation of the steel at stair
#5 will begin 1/14/02.
- Hilles renovations
will start on 1/14/02 with final move to Stokes complete.
December:
- Install stair #5 steel in mid
January.
- Close in building with temporary roof
in early January.
- Set third floor plank at remaining
link in mid January.
- Stone work will begin
on the west elevation.
- Sprinkler piping to
start on the ground floor.
- Scaffolding will
be enclosed during Winter Break.
November:
- We are still holding to the 11/14/01 end date for precast.
- Steel is still scheduled
to follow on 11/19/01.
- Precast erector's 250-ton crane
will be dismantled on 11/17/01.
- The smaller crane
for the steel erection which forms the roof will be set up on 11/19/01.
- The concrete floors will be
poured starting the week of 11/12/01 and finishing in early December.
- The Hilles interior demolition
will start in mid-January when all departments currently in the building are
moved to Stokes.
October:
- The west wing construction
is approximately 1.5 weeks ahead of where the east wing was last Fall.
- Precast erection
will be completeted during the week of 11/12/01.
- The roof steel will be erected
starting 11/19/01.
- The first floor precast will
be completed and the second floor will begin and finish during the week of
10/29/01.
- West wing precast erection
started on 10/15/01
- West wing foundations will
continue until 10/01/01 and the precast will be erected.
August:
- The east entrance to Sharpless
will open on August 27th.
- Foundations for the west wing
will begin on August 27th.
- Link and rotunda occupancy
will begin on August 30th.
- The official opening of the Sharpless
to INSC path will occur on August 30th.
May:
- Flooring and lighting
is beginning on the first floor of the east wing.
- A temporary wall is being constructed
to close the link up until Phase 2 is connected.
- Suspended light fixtures are
being installed on all floors of the east wing.
- Working from the top down, the drywall
and painting of the rotunda has begun.
- Casework and countertops
will be installed in the east wing.
- Electrical rough-in
and mechanical pipe rough-in will continue in
the link.
April:
- Wire is
being pulled to feed the outlets and the lighting on all floors of
the east wing.
- Doors
in the link are being set.
- Casework, fumehoods and
counter tops are being sorted for
installation.
- Stair
two is being enclosed.
- Finish
paint is being applied to the first and
second floors.
March:
- Stair
one tower is installed and in
use.
- Environmental boxes
are being installed.
- The
global
wrap is in the process of being
removed.
- Complete the
stone
on the west elevation of the east wing.
- Begin work on the main
air handling
unit.
February:
- The third floor
bearing
walls are going up.
- Drywall partitions
are being installed on both sides of the
studs of the ground and the first floor.
- The third lift of the
rotunda
will be formed.
- Dry wall
installation will begin on the first floor
of the east wing.
January:
- Dry
wall installation will begin on the first
floor.
- Elevator
one in the north end of the east wing is
being installed.
- Exterior
masonry
stone work is going up on the west side of the east
wing.
- Piping rough-in for the east wing
sprinklers
will begin.
- The first floor
steps and
landing in the rotunda will be poured.
- The rough-in of the
piping and duct
work will occur on all floors.
- The building from the ground floor up to the
third floor will be enclosed with
plastic
wrap.
- Erection of the
roof
steel is scheduled to begin 1/8/01 and be
completed on 1/12/01.
December:
- Beginning the week of December 18, 2000
underground
utilities will be installed to the link and
the east wing
construction will continue with the 1st
floor rough-in, installation of metal studs for partition walls on
the first floor and the unistrut on the third floor.
- The building will be
wrapped
in the coming weeks from 12/11 to enclose the structure and the
scaffolding.
- The building will then be
heated
with gas heaters - in a few weeks.
- The
corridor
walls are still going up on the first
second and third floor the week of 12/11.
- Corridor
walls
and dry
wall partitions on the first floor of the
East Wing will begin 12/4.
- Plumbing
and
electrical
rough-ins throughout the East Wing begin 12/4.
November:
- Additional
scaffolding
will be erected for continuing work on the East Wing the week of
11/27.
- Work progresses on ground floor
corridor
walls.
- Masonry
work on the ground floor will be completed
the week of 11/13.
- Excavation
for the link section continues.
- Water and fire service will be
installed
for the building the week of 11/13.
- Ground floor exterior
block
walls and interior
corridor
walls will be built in the East Wing the
week of 11/13.
- The masonry walls for the
rotunda
should also be constructed this week.
October:
- The ground floor of the East Wing will have a
floor,
as the concrete will be poured the week of 10/22.
- The construction of the
greenhouse
begins with underground work on the week of 10/22.
- The erection of the concrete for the first
floor will be
completed
the week of 10/9.
- The Rotunda walls will be
formed
and poured into place, also the week of 10/9.
September:
- Erection and
grouting of the precast concrete for the
first floor will begin the week of 9/28.
- Concrete radius wall at the rotunda for the
second floor will be
lifted
into place 9/28.
- Concrete
will be poured for the ground and first floor of the rotunda
beginning 9/21.
- Installation of
precast
concrete for the east wing will begin on
9/14.
- Concrete for the
radius
walls of the rotunda will be poured into
place the week of 9/14.
- Underground mechanical work will be
completed
by 9/14.
- The next section of the
rotunda
walls will be formed and
rebar
will be added beginning 9/7.
August:
- Underground piping and electrical work at
Sharpless will be completed
and foundation waterproofing will be
on-going the week of 8/31.
- The
elevator
shaft will be drilled the week of 8/31.
- Slab
foundation for the main stair will begin
the week of 8/15, and the foundation drainage system will be back
filled, weather permitting.
- Sidewalks and
paving will be finished at the Campus
Center and on the south section of Coursey Road the week of
8/3.
- Site
lighting
will be installed at the Campus Center beginning 8/3.
- The
foundation
walls on the west side of the building will
be poured beginning 8/3.
- Finishes
(paint, flooring, ceilings) and
installation of lab
casework in Sharpless are ongoing. This
includes the piping and wiring of counters, electrical raceways
and sinks.
June:
- Building
pad construction and structural undercuts
will continue through June with foundations scheduled to begin
being constructed in early July.
- The
sidewalks
in front of the Campus Center will be extended to meet the new
Coursey Road path beginning 6/26/00. The college
plantings
will be maintained.
- Sharpless first and fifth floor
renovation
is ongoing. The air handling unit will be lifted in place on
6/26/00.
- Concrete foundations at the demolished portion
of Sharpless will be
removed
during the week of 6/19/00.
- Ductwork
will be installed in the first floor of Sharpless during the week
of 6/19/00.
- Building
excavation is scheduled to begin in early
June.
- Ductwork and piping
installation on the Sharpless current
ground and fourth floors will start in early June.
- Coursey Road will be
paved
during the week of 6/5/00.
- Exposed
steel at Sharpless will be
taken
down beginning the week of 6/5/00.
- Demolition
of the interior of Sharpless first and fifth floors should be
completed by 6/5/00.
- Sharpless
"skin
demolition" will be completed no later than
6/5/00.
May:
- Demolition of
Sharpless ground
floor begins 5/17/00 - this project will
take about three weeks.
- Sharpless
"skin
demolition" begins the week of 5/15/00.
- Demolition of the
Physical Plant
foundations will resume 5/15/00.
- Gas main
relocation begins week of 5/01/00;
water main
relocation begins the week of 5/08/00.
- Curb work
and
paving for the
new Coursey
Road will start 5/12/00.
- The relocation of the
electrical and
telecommunications hub from the existing
Physical Plant Building to the Central Heating Plant is scheduled
for the weekend of 5/20/00. The new telecommunications ductbank
between Hilles and Ryan Gym is scheduled to be complete by
5/12/00.
- Construction of the
concrete
foundations for the
new East
Wing will begin 5/26/00.
- Storm drainage work in the
new Coursey
Road footprint will be completed in
May.
- Installation of a
new sanitary
line in the new road footprint will take
place in May.
- Reshingling of the
cricket shed
foundation is ongoing.
April:
- Demolition of the old Physical
Plant Building has commenced. In order to
allow for the future connection of the INSC to Sharpless, a
portion of the Sharpless
library and auditorium also has to be
demolished.
- To continue use of the library and the
auditorium, a temporary but sound and
weather proof
wall was built before demolition
started.The second portion of the temporary wall construction at
Sharpless will be completed in late April.
- Storm piping
work and
gas and water line
work will continue through April. This will
require several Coursey Road crossings which will be coordinated
by Barclay White and the college. (Road crossings will necessitate
running piping under the roadway, but continuous use of the road
will be maintained.)
- Grading for the
new Coursey
Road will commence on 4/10/00. Use of this
newly routed road is expected by mid May.The new road will lay
roughly parallel to the existing Coursey Road, approximately 30
feet to the east (toward the cricket pitch and College
Circle).
- Installation of
new electrical and
telecommunications ductbanks has started
with emphasis on the new routing for the hub located in Physical
Plant.
