Haverford Announces Bond Issue
March 5, 2000: Haverford College expects the Delaware County Authority to issue $45 million of tax-exempt bonds on behalf of the College in mid-March, 2000, to finance the construction of new science facilities and miscellaneous other capital projects on the College campus. Friends of the College who are interested in receiving information about the upcoming bond financing may contact John Garvey at PaineWebber Incorporated at (215) 496-2042 or (800) 345-7941 or via e-mail at John.Garvey@painewebber.com.
March 13, 2000 (Update): Haverford College announces that thanks to extraordinarily favorable conditions in the tax exempt market, the bond sale was held March 9, 2000. According to Richard Wynn, Haverford's vice president for finance and administration, the unexpected market conditions allowed the College to sell the entire bond issue at rates that are "very beneficial for the College."
