Dr. Akinola, the first author, noted that using this study as leverage, the department was able to acquire a flow cytometer, a machine that allows for CD4 cell counts to be performed. [3,8,10] However, viral load techniques are still unavailable, they must pay to have them done at other centers.  In the future, the institution is looking into obtaining the means to determine viral load on site. [8]
