Student Biography
Katie Hart was accepted into the PhD program in chemistry at UC Berkeley in 2004. She chose to defer for several years to gain some research and science writing experience. After graduating, she worked for Chiron, a biotechnology company in the Bay area. While doing research at Chiron, she continued her freelance science writing for the Protein Society Newsletter. Most recently, she has done some teaching for a program called Mad Science, an international franchise that provides after-school enrichment for elementary-aged kids. She is now planning on starting at Berkeley this fall.
