Student Biography
Faith Wallace-Gadsden BMC '05 majored in biology at Haverford College and minored in African Studies at Bryn Mawr College. While at Haverford and Bryn Mawr, Faith was a Mellon-Mays Undergraduate Fellow and an HHMI multicultural scholar. Faith?s interest in microbiology began early in life before college. As an early sophomore, she ran across a Nature paper by Vincent Fischetti on phage lysis proteins, which inspired her to biograph his classic earlier work on sorting in Gram positive bacteria. Faith worked as a research associate at the University of California Berkeley until 2006, when she began a PhD in Microbiology at Tufts University.
