Holiday Opportunities for Multicultural Exchange

Holiday Opportunities for Multicultural Exchange (HOME) is a holiday homestay/hosting program intended to promote cross-cultural exchange between international students and other members of the Haverford community.

We seek members of the Haverford community who are interested in inviting international students into their homes for any length of time during academic year breaks—Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break, Winter Recess, or Spring Break. Students and families will be able to take part in each other’s cultures, whether by enjoying a home-cooked meal together, learning about different holiday traditions, or simply spending quality time together in a home setting. We encourage participation regardless of life stage or family structure, as these differences help convey the many faces of the American household and offer additional avenues of cross-cultural exchange.

Denise Allison, Director of International Student Services, will oversee the student-host matching process and make initial contact with each party. The student will then follow-up with the host to finalize arrangements.
