Institutional Effectiveness
Any institution’s well-being depends on collaborative visionary planning and leadership, effective governance structures, and efficient support services. Each academic and administrative department makes a unique contribution towards advancing our shared institutional goals.
The sub-links at left provide information about our approach to comprehensive planning, the governance structures through which we work, access to key College policies and procedures, and how institutional effectiveness is addressed through program and performance assessment.
With Haverford's educational mission at our center, institutional effectiveness covers two broad areas of evaluation: 1) program assessment, at the institutional, curricular, and operational/administrative levels; and 2) performance review of the individuals who design, implement, and learn via those various "programs." The College supports the continuing development of faculty as effective teachers and scholars through numerous initiatives. In concert, these two components summarize our institutional effectiveness initiatives
. Student learning is at the heart of our mission. Here we position it within the institutional effectiveness context, and explicate it fully in its own section of this website.
