Policies & Procedures: Housekeeping & Maintenance Requests

Something broken? leaking? missing? squeaking? Having a problem in the dorms? Facilities Management Staff is there to help.

Facilities Management Staff is responsible for housekeeping and maintenance in all of the dorms – up campus and now at HCA. Work requests can be submitted three (3) ways.

  • By Phone: Call ext. 1096 during normal business hours. Best used for emergency situations during the day.
  • By Email: Send work requests to facilities@haverford.edu Best used for routine requests.
  • By Web: Visit http://new.webtma.com. You will see a Log In screen. Leave the Log In and Password fields blank and type "Haverford" in the Client field. Best used for routine requests when a schedule date is requested.

Emergencies: During normal working hours, call the Service Coordinator (610-896-1096) immediately for any emergency situations. The Service Coordinator will, if necessary, direct the closest worker to correct the problem. As these calls take precedent over all other high-priority jobs, please use good judgment when calling in an "emergency."

If the Facilities Management Office is closed and you have a problem that needs immediate attention or if it is an emergency, call Safety & Security at 610-896-1111 or on an emergency phone, they are available 24/7.

What to Contact Facilities For:

  • Plumbing Problems: Toilet not working properly, Sinks or showers not draining, No hot water, Leaks.
  • Heating Issues: Too hot, Too cold.
  • Furnishings: Missing or broken furniture, Missing or broken blinds or shades, Carpet or rug woes.
  • Washing Machines or Dryers: Not working properly, Won't take coins.
  • Supplies: Light Bulbs, Toilet paper, Extra trash barrels or liners.
  • Mice, ants or other pest issues.
  • Vacuum cleaner issues.
  • Housekeeping/Cleaning issues.
  • Maintenance issues

Exceptions to the facilities@haverford.edu Rules:

  • Key questions, problems or concerns? Contact Gail Turner at gturner@haverford.edu or x1351 or go to the Facilities Management Office.
  • Onecard issues? Trouble with your building access or charging food? Contact John Castrege at jcastreg@haverford.edu or x1208.
  • Smoke detector issues? Beeping or malfunctioning smoke detectors? Contact Safety & Security at x1111. They will send someone to change the battery.
  • Carbon Monoxide detector issues? Contact Safety & Security at x1111.
  • Telephone questions, problems or concerns? Contact Nancy Sunderland at nsunderl@haverford.edu or x1243
  • Emergency - As always if this is an emergency contact Safety & Security 24/7 at 610-698-1111. They will contact the appropriate "on call" personnel.
