Living @ Haverford: Current Students
Quick Links
Arrival Day is Saturday August 29th, 2009
Residence Halls officially open for Upper class Students at 10:00am!
Only students with special permission from the Housing Office or Athletic Department will be allowed to move in before the official opening date (e.g. UCAs, CPs, HCOs, SRPs, PAFs, AMAs, Customs Program support, or athletes). Students who do not have special permission to arrive early will need to make other arrangements and stay off campus if they must return to the area before Saturday, August 29th. A list of area accommodations can be found at Visting Haverford: Lodging.
Please Note: Due to the increasing number of students arriving without permission, a $250.00 fine will be levied on students who are on campus before the residence halls officially open on Saturday, August 29th. Any student who permits an unauthorized student to stay in their residence hall/apartment will also be fined $250. Imposing fines is not something we do lightly, so we hope you recognize the magnitude of the problem and respect our effort to deal with it fairly. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
Early Arrivals
Students who have been given permission to return early, please download the Early Arrival PDF
for information on key pick up. Students who have been given special permission to return, please remember that you must acknowledge receipt of your key by swiping your One Card by the end of Non-Academic Registration on Sunday, August 30th. Dorm security is a serious matter, and Facilities Management must be able to confirm that the department's records match the number of the key in your possession. If you do not personally swipe your OneCard for your room key at the Facilities Management Office when you first arrive, you can do so during their regular hours M-F, 8am - 4:00 pm or at Non-Academic Registration, on either Wednesday, August 26th (if you have permission) or Sunday, August 30th.
Non-Academic Registration
Non-Academic Registration is mandatory for all returning students and will take place on Sunday, August 30th from 10:00am- 3:00pm, Morris Health Services & Founders Great Hall. Reminder: Bring your Onecard with you. Non-Academic Registration is the process during which students verify health records, satisfy their student accounts, obtain and swipe for their room keys, among other things. Students must complete Non-Academic Registration to be considered fully enrolled. The process takes approximately one hour, so please arrive no later than 2:00 pm. You will receive your own individual Non-Academic Registration form at the first station at Morris Health Services. Upperclass students, with special permission (UCAs, Customs People, PAFs, AMAs, HCOs, SRPs, Athletes ONLY), may go through Non-Academic Registration on Wednesday, August 26th from 1:00pm - 4:00 pm.
If you cannot attend Non-Academic Registration, you must notify and make arrangements with the Housing Office no later than 4:30 pm, Friday, August 28th (610-896-1298 or housing@haverford.edu).
