Magill Library houses more than half a million volumes and provides access to 2.5 million more through a catalog system that connects it to libraries at neighboring Bryn Mawr and Swarthmore Colleges.

When students came to Roberts Hall for Spring Plenary in February 1985, resolutions included guidelines for the publication of Honor Council abstracts; ratification of the Honor Code; and a proposal that the College …[purchase] “new and improved weight-training equipment (hopefully Nautilus, the current state-of-the-art).”

Discovering the Discovery and the Grandfather Who Saved Millions

Carl Sigmond ’13, through a grant from the Hurford Center for Arts and Humanities and the Koshland Integrated Natural Sciences Center, documented the life and legacy of his grandfather, Albert Schatz, who discovered streptomycin, the first antibiotic effective against tuberculosis.

Haverford has more than 145 groups who publish magazines, host symposia, sing a cappella, discuss religion and spirituality, stay politically active, maintain a system of student self-government, dance, demonstrate and create.
