Supported by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the Tri-College Creative Residencies Program encourages Swarthmore, Haverford, and Bryn Mawr faculty to design and implement arts residencies in conjunction with their curricular and scholarly agendas.

The Fine Arts at Haverford emphasize the individual. Studio classes are small and all students—from beginners to declared majors—receive individual, focused instruction, and are encouraged to develop the physical and critical skills necessary to create art.

In a unique student-faculty collaboration, Professor Carol Solomon and Janet Yoon ’10 co-curated Mapping Identity, an exhibition featuring internationally-recognized artists whose works deal with issues of transnational identity, and the effects of displacement, exile, hybridity cosmopolitanism and the state of the in-between.
