Today, well over 15,000 prospective students and their families come to Haverford each year for campus tours conducted by a troupe of 30 student guides who volunteer for the Admission office.

With only 300-500 applicants each year, a visit by prospective students and their families in the 1950s often included an appointment with the college president, in this case Gilbert White.

The Friend in Residence program brings gifted and experienced Quakers to campus for extended interactions with students, staff, faculty and the community to stimulate reflection on the connections between academic pursuits and “letting one’s life speak.”
