Students use old maps in Special Collections for a project in Prof. Hayton's Introduction to the History of Science course.

History is essential to a free and enlightened citizenry and forms a cornerstone of the liberal arts education at Haverford College. Our varied curriculum encourages students to analyze and interpret the past from many different perspectives and to recognize their own role in writing “history.” History majors pursue creative studies of the past grounded in careful analysis of historical sources.

  • History senior Willa Isikoff, '15, participated in the Public Policy Forum organized at the College on Saturday, March 21. Willa's poster depicted her senior thesis work on Britain's reception of Basque children refugees during the Spanish Civil War of 1936-39.
