History Department Alumni at HaverfordOne of the most frequently asked questions by prospective students (and their parents!) is: What can I do with a History degree? The list below provides a brief glimpse of some of the career paths followed by our alumni, who continue to surprise department members with the diversity of their choices! Alumni SpotlightDaniel K. Miller 44, of Aiken, South Carolina, has created the Robert E. Miller and Sons American History Scholarship Fund to allow history students to put financial concerns aside and concentrate more fully on their studies. After graduating from Haverford College, Daniel K. Miller earned a MS in Organic Chemistry from Northwestern University and served in the Army Corps of Engineers during WWII. Although he allegedly retired from Dupont Co., SRP, Industrial Relations in 1981, Daniel maintains a keen interest in water distribution systems and sees the global sharing of water as a pragmatic solution to many of the worlds problems. He is a Life Member of the Nature Conservancy. Congratulations to Shaun Emil Koont 04, the first recipient of a Miller scholarship! Our goal is to build the fund to the point where several students can spend their summers engaged in historical research. We invite you to learn more about the Robert E.
