Student Environmental Groups: EarthQuakers
The EarthQuakers is Haverford's student-run environmental club, founded in 1993 and dedicated to dealing with a broad range of issues.
The club provides an avenue for students to work towards making Haverford a greener college and provides resources for additional sustainability-related projects in which students express interest. Past projects have included advocacy campaigns to reduce waste and increase electricity conservation, organizing a local foods week, bringing speakers to campus, raising money for environmental non-profits, writing letters to support various campaigns, conducting a campus-wide survey to assess student opinions, and researching alternatives to paper towel use on campus.
