Haverford Parents' Google Group: The 4 Step Guide to Joining
Google Groups is all about helping users connect with people, access information, and communicate effectively over email and on the web. You can choose whether you want to read and post messages online, or to just use your current email account to read, create and respond. It’s also a place to preserve and contribute ‘evergreen’ information such as travel and dining tips.

Step One: Create an Account
You will need a Google Account to access our Group. It takes only moments to create and is entirely free! If you already have a Google Account, or will be using a Gmail account to participate, you can skip to Step Two, otherwise take a moment to create your account before continuing.
Remember, a Google Account is not the same thing as "Gmail" - you can create a Google Account using any existing email address, be it one provided by your employer, Yahoo, Hotmail, Comcast, Gmail, etc. When signing up, be sure to do so using the email address where you'd prefer to receive Group messages.
Step Two: Apply for Membership
After you have a Google Account, you will need to Sign In and Apply for Membership to our Group! Remember, you will sign in using the email address you used to create your Google Account, and password.
Once you're signed in, the next screen will allow you to customize your experience. You'll be able to pick how you prefer to receive messages from the group, how you would like your name displayed in the group, and you will be asked to provide basic information on your child, so we can verify you are a parent. When you are done, be sure to hit the Apply for Membership button.
Step Three: The Approval Process
Since this is an exclusive group, after you've applied for membership you'll be taken to a confirmation screen, which will remind you that your membership is currently pending approval. Our staff will approve membership after verifying your information. When you've been approved, you'll receive an email letting you know.
Step Four: You're Now a Group Member
Congratulations, you're a member of the group! You can begin participating immediately, be it by emailing messages to haverford-college-parents@googlegroups.com, or visiting the Group online at http://groups.google.com/group/haverford-college-parents and signing in.
We recommend you take a moment to visit the Group online at least once after successfully joining, as you'll be able to search the archive for topics of interest, see what people have been talking about, view pages of useful information created by parents and/or Haverford staff members, and more!
